At 16 to 24 months, no more that 4 steers are moved to a 10 acre pasture. 

They have access wooded land, grass pasture, a covered shelter, grass hay, grain and fresh water.

If at any time the steers are standing "knee deep", it's because they have decided to wade in the creek.
